Cette série est surtout intéressante pour les dossiers consacrés à l'incendie de l'exposition en 1944 : ils contiennent en effet la liste des meubles et objets des stands de la Pologne, de l'Egypte, de la Suisse, de la Hongrie et du BIE lui-même. L'exposition n'existant plus à l'heure actuelle, seule une connaissance basée sur des photographies ou des listes d'objets de ce genre permet d'en imaginer une représentation la moins éloignée possible de la réalité. Ce dossier porte sur les polices et la correspondance (1929-1958) de l'assurance incendie du BIE en général et des assurances concernant l'incendie de l'Exposition survenue dans la nuit du 25 au 26 mars 1944 en particulier.
Translated Scope and Content
This series is especially interesting for the files devoted to the fire of the exhibition in 1944: they contain a list of furniture and objects from the stands of Poland, Egypt, Switzerland, Hungary and the IBE itself. As the exhibition no longer exists, only knowledge based on photographs or lists of such objects would make it possible to imagine a representation as close as possible to reality. This file deals with the policies and correspondence (1929-1958) of the IBE's fire insurance in general and the insurance concerning the fire at the Exhibition on the night of March, 25th- 26th 1944 in particular.
