Cette série contient des informations sur une action ponctuelle menée par le BIE durant la seconde guerre mondiale, le Service d'Aide Intellectuelle aux Prisonniers de guerre (S.A.I.P.). Le contenu des dossiers permet d’étudier aussi bien les aspects matériels (organisation, coûts, commandes et dons de livres) que les aspects politiques (relations avec des gouvernements ou des institutions similaires) et intellectuels (listes de livres demandés ou envoyés, concours organisé pour les prisonniers) de cette action. Cinq dossiers, contenus dans la première boîte du groupe (n. 80), comportent en outre de la documentation sur des activités semblables exercées par d’autres institutions. La boîte n. 236 contient des exemplaires des journaux de camp, distribués aux prisonniers de ces derniers afin de les instruire et les divertir.
Translated Scope and Content
This series contains information on a specific action carried out by the IBE during the Second World War, the Service for Intellectual Assistance to Prisoners of War (S.A.I.P.). The content of the files makes it possible to study both the material (organization, costs, orders and donations of books) and the political (relations with governments or similar institutions) and intellectual (lists of books requested or sent, competitions organized for prisoners) aspects of this action. Five files, contained in the first box of the group (n. 80), also contain documentation on similar activities carried out by other institutions. Box n. 236 contains copies of the camp newspapers, distributed to the prisoners of the camp for their instruction and entertainment.
